Low Barrier Housing occupants are known drug addicts. They are not committed to sobriety. A recent City report identifies 21% as alcoholics, 60% addicted to stimulants, 22% with mental illness and 25% exhibit criminal behavior.

The City changed zoning on the land without you knowing. The City and the Province changed the allowed usage of the Uplands and Hammond Bay site on March 17, 2011 from “Fire Hall Usage” only to “Social Housing”. They did it without a Public Hearing, public input, or notification to residents. The city won’t allow anyone else to change land use zoning without citizens’ input, but they think they can? That’s a clear Double Standard.
