Low Barrier Housing is not a solution to the homeless of Nanaimo. The City of Nanaimo and BC Housing are proposing several low barrier housing complexes in and around the City. The Uplands Drive development is within 100 metres of a High School and immediately adjacent to a senior living complex. The occupants of low barrier housing are known, active drug and alcohol users. Help protect your community.
Concerned Citizens petition council to listen

The Concerned Citizens of Nanaimo presented a four page document to Council and Mayor for consideration prior to their debate on October 31. The debate was to argue for a suspension on the Uplands low barrier housing site until consultation was undertaken.
