Hospital Area Neighbourhood Association support the Concerned Citizens Campaign

10/31/2011 - 12:48pm

There has been much controversy about the Concerned Citizens of Nanaimo and the apparent 'North end' focus.  The topic of wet housing affects many areas of the City of Nanaimo and in an effort to support other neighbourhood groups and to present a united front across the City, the CCN is now proud to announce the association and support of the HANA group.

In a recent statement to HANA members,
"We also wish to advise you that HANA has decided to support the Concerned Citizens of Nanaimo in their efforts to have the site selection for the Uplands area proposed Wet House/Low Barrier housing put on hold. It is our hope that the whole Wet Housing/Low Barrier housing initiative Nanaimo wide be put on hold. Mr. Ron Cantelon made the statement that he had spoken to Minister Coleman and the funds can be held without fear of losing them while a consultation process was held. We feel that this would be in everyone's best interest at this point."
