Your Vote. Your Council.

Bill Bestwick, Candidate for Council Bill McKay, Candidate for Council Chris Cathers, Candidate for Council Rod Lomas, Candidate for Council Brian Fillmore, Candidate for Council

The Concerned Citizens of Nanaimo have been campaigning the current City Council on the issue of low barrier housing in Uplands, and the low barrier housing projects across the City of Nanaimo.

Our issues are:

The lack of transparency by City and Council

The lack of public consultation with the communities affected by low barrier wet houses

The lack of study and consultation in the planning process

Petitions to existing council have not been heard despite substantial community support and agreement

The lack of communication on the subject from Mayor and Council

The poor planning process from the City of Nanaimo

November 19 offers an opportunity to remove from office the existing councillors who have time and time again lied on the record, disputed fact from their own publications and refused to hear the voices of the people who voted them into office in the first place.  Our sitting council seem to have forgotten who they work for and are 'yes men' for city officials.  This is wrong and unethical.

We ask that on November 19, you vote for the candidates listed below.  You don't need to vote for anyone else, your vote will be valid.

By voting for the candidates that support consultation and transparency in our city council, you are creating a governing body that works for the community, listens to voters and wants to find a solution for the homeless of Nanaimo that works for everyone.
